can the upper and lower sections be seperated if either are damaged? and a new section added?

Yeah mate they just unbolt from the inside.

i don't think they just unbolt, i'm pretty sure they're plastic welded in a few places.
not hard to seperate though.

Could be cant say i have ever pulled mine apart just looked at the inside.

i have the headlight section only and it looks to have a bead of sikaflex
on the back where the two parts are joined, wondering if it is like that from factory.

It has what appears to be slots and clips which join the two along with a bead of sikaflex to hold them together!

yeh, there are 4-6 screws on the two ends and plastic welded and glued together. Does come apart. i have pulled mine apart before for repairs and just used a soldering iron to melt out the plastic tabs then just melted and sikaflexed it together on assembly
