Yeah FOLKS I recommend "Meguairs X Scratch" as I bought another tube of that wonderful stuff from Kmart, as they had 15% of storewide.
Anyway I only used it and nothing else on my offending Passenger-side headlight for about an hour and I must say it is 90% good comparing it with my Drivers side Headlight which is clear as a bell and has no Yellowing signs on it all.

the scratch x is good stuff. try it on your taillamps and indicators brings em up like new!

i guess your lights will be clean for the cruise then Like I said you can still see a slight opaqueness in the passenger Head light if you look very closely. But overall 100% better than before. I think if I used an Electric Buffer combined with " X- Scratch" instead of doing it by hand I could get it back to new! Normally you pay $19.99 retail from Kmart. What ever you do don't go to REPCO cause they are rip offs with their over-inflated prices on everything. Hence the acronym; Rip Every Poor Cvnt Off.

I done my lights 2 or 3 month ago and its looks like new.
Cleaned with 1200 wet'n'dry then ScratchX then bought from Supercheap headlight protectors "ALTREX" brand, stuck it on and it looks like new. At first the lens looks slightly milky but as you stick the protectors on you will see it getting clear.

Silly question, this yellowing of the head lights.Is it on the inside or outside of the headlights and is it right what I read in this post that the lenses and made of plastic??

The yellowing of the headlight occurs on the outside of the actual headlight (in my case it did anyways). And yes, the lense is plastic with some chrome backing to give that "shiny" effect.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Aparently the yellowing is caused by the heating/cooling of the lens. Driving with high beams on causes extreme heating of the lens. This is ok however in the rain the outside of the lens is rapidly cooled. The result.... a yellow film on top of the lens after some time of use....

Heh, I read about the throttle body cleaner a while back and just tried it half an hour ago. As I sprayed it on it was instantly clear and I thought cool, then came back 10 mins later and the headlight now looks as clear as grease proof paper! haha, I'm not too distressed, I'm sure sanding them will bring them back ok. I've done the sanding thing before but I find it only lasts a few months.
One drone, you say swap lenses - do they actually come off ? I thought the light was a sealed unit ? You know why it REALLY happens ? It's gods way of making us all want to do XR headlight conversions

I think quite a few of us including myself got totally sucked in by that "Throttle Body Cleaner" trick on the Headlights. I say 1mile sniper has an "evil " sense of humour. The prick

I had the same problem and tried everything! i got em looking good for a while but they just went back to the way they were if not worse.
i rang my local FORD service department at NUFORD, and they actually fix the discolouration there. They scraped of the yellow cloudy layers with a machine i think  and promise that they will never discolour again.
It only cost me $40 and they look brand new, and that was 2 years ago and they still look great. I recomend getting this done, just call your local FORD Service Department. It works and its a s*it load cheaper than replacing them.

A further warning to those thinking of trying the throttle body cleaner:
These before and after pics of my headlights. 
The after pic was after a few minutes rub with some 800 wet and dry (all I had) and polish with normal #1 polish. Still not brilliant, but better than it was before the throttle body cleaner FUBAR'd them (they were no where near that milky before hand) You can see in the top corner near the blinker in the bottom pic where I was a bit lazy with the sanding.

Hey Hyena,is that before pic a pic of the headlights after you applied "Throttle body cleaner" or is it just the Yellowing. Cause if it is from the Throttle body cleaner that is absolutely hideous. Mine never got that bad
