very interested on the e-series particulry EF, and what it entails to swap front for xr8 version. bumper, with the dual headlights, and the two scoops that kind of resemble 3 claw marks

Hi matey. There are a few that come up on TradeMe, but not many. The bonnet is the same shape as the GLi, Falcon, Futura I think... It is not the same as the Fairmont or higher spec'd cars.
Remember indicators are different too, that seems to be the hardest part to find a primo example available. I've seen quite a few genuine XR's with Falcon front ends put on them down Wellington. Seems that people can't find / afford the replacement lights / shrouds when they get injured. To answer you question, YES, it can be done. The budget aware (such as myself) can take years to get something like that done, just keep chipping away at it and keep your eyes peeled and buy the stuff as it appears. It took me ages to get all the bits for a five speed conversion - and even then I had to fabricate some parts. But the biggest single outlay at any one time was about $300. Pity that the T5 I bought and spent so much stress on getting working just fried itself after 50,000km anyway..... Typical. ADVANCED FORD AND HOLDEN and TRADEME dude. Unless SLO happens to own a small boat and is going to NZ on a bit of a cruise sometime soon...... |

Note that the "ABS COMPUTER" as pictured here isn't actually the ABS unit at all. It is a charcoal canister that is used to purge fuel vapours. The ABS unit sits under this in front left wheel arch and is a block of alloy with metal brake lines coming out! |
