Hey all, hoping to rack all your brains for just a minute..
I have a typhoon front bar on my el at the moment, however due to the fact the el and ef headlights differing, i was unable to get the grille section.. somehow the company i got it from didnt know there was a difference. anyway im rambling, back to it.. what i was hoping was that someone could tell me if it is possible for me to change the el headlights for say, fairlane ones. this is because im hoping to have a fairlane bonnet with ba bulge put on. I really like the look of the fairmont grille, well with a wire mesh rather than stock. Is this possible?

ps. heres some pics of the front bar to show you what i did. its a bit of a quickie job but im hoping i can change that. :)

That is a nice "Fairmont" front bar.
Yes the fairmont bonnet and lights are a straight fit (I have them on my EF Gli).
There is a wire to cut at the headlight relays to suit the mont H4 globes.

Disconnect the green/orange wire on the low beam relay. Then check low beam goes out when high beam is on. Probably not healthy to run 2 x high and 1x low beams concurrently in polycarb lights long term - they're pretty marginal to high power and heat.

one last thing, so once the headlights are in, do you know if the bonnets grille will sit flush with the front bar?

Thanks again :)

Another thing, so the bonnet will fit, but what about opening the bonnet? do the clips line up?? cuz im looking at the fibreglass bonnets over at kurnell kustoms and im wanting to get a fairmont bonnet with bulge, colour coding the grille then placing a mesh in it.
Possibilities????
Cheers

a fairmont/fairlane bonnet will fit straight on once u have the fairmont/fairlane lights
u will just need to fit a fairmont/fairlane latch mechanism to the radiator support where the falcon one is, easy 3x 10mm head bolts, and swap the bonnet cable to the new one
