Could anyone out there confirm if it is possible to put an el Fairmont front onto an XG or XH ute.

Nope, the XH is basically a cut and shut from XF and EL in factory ford form, if you use the search function (assuming it still works it's been awhile since i've been on here lol) unless you are a good fabricator or panel beater / smash repairer etc its not a direct fit
