Theyre interchangeable champ, just like 99% of EF/EL parts.

IIRC they had three 'front ends'

low - GLi/Futura
XR - XR's duh
high - Fairmont/Fairlane/LTD/GT

The low front end changed from EF to EL (and parts not swappable), XR and high front ends fully swappable. EF low had pointy headlights (like high, but different), EL had rounded headlights (unlike anything else).

Front end consists off, front bar, headlights, grille, bonnet. Front quarter panels all the same.

True - but you can swap a whole front end from ef to el or vice versa therefore theyre interchangeable :P

From some that had the EL GT spoilers and knew that was the only ugly part.

I know someone desperate to acquire one, to the point, if possible to borrow one, to make molds from.

* must be a real one, those dodgy 'EF GT' frontbar kits aren't right.

Only just saw this thread.

Peter Haines makes the grills by themselves.

He's the one that sells the EF GT kit. As well as the GLi front end that they do, he also makes the grill (in fiberglass) on it's own to suite normal EF/EL Fairmonts. As far as I can see, it looks identical to the genuine EL GT grill.

See....

That's the number.

I seem to remember him saying that he get's the grill made by someone else because he doesn't have the moulds.

Hope it helps.
