Since having my HID retrofit and build thread finished, I have had a few inquiries about having more headlights made.

At the moment the removal of the lines from the lenses involves a huge amount of labour and that makes it very cost prohibitive for anything other than DIY. I spent easily 10 hours per lens to get mine perfect. In time that will bcome quicker but it wil still be more than most are willing to pay for.

I have had a casual look in to what options are available to have clear lenses made and if there is enough interest I should be able to get something done. The clear lenses will make it easy for anyone that wants to retrofit projectors, or freeform reflectors (BA, etc) in to their headlights.
To start with it will be for EF/L Fairmonts, but if it goes well I can easily expand that to include EF and EL Falcons, and all lenses from EA-ED, later on it will be easy to done one-offs as well, so even semi-sealed round lights would be possible.

They will be made from 2 or 3 mm acrylic (aka:perspex) as it is more scratch resistant, and easier to work with, that polycarbonate.

Obviously if there is not enough interest, I wont go any further than this, but if there is enough I reckon I will be able to have something ready in abotu 3 months. (depending on everything going the way I hoipe it will of course)

Looks like it might be worthwhile investigating a little further.

No idea on price yet, that will be something I'll look into first.

Thanks for the heads up, but I'm not looking at doing a group buy.
Just gauging interest to see if it's worth my while to invest some time and money in to it.
If it works out, they will be sold on an as needed basis.
