if you have a look at the front of the fuse box theres one multi pin plug which connects into the front of it. Spliced into one of these is a wire coming out at right angles (in a scotch lock type setup connected to a spade terminal.) If you just unplug this spade terminal (there might be 2 actually if there is unplug them both) the lights return to normal operation,
this way you can reinstall the lights on feature if you want to. as a side note though, when is it ever a bad thing to have headlights on giving other drivers greater chance of seeing you? |

i'm tipping its an ex country car then travelling a lot of km's out on the highway. lights on round town during the day if its not raining or anything is no real advantage.

There is another way that I do it at work.
Pull the fuse box cover off and have a look above the fuse box, there should be a little black box that is either on a bracket or just shoved up there. If its on the bracket you will need to undo the 8mm bolt that holds the bracket on. Then pull the black box down and unplug the white connector plug in it. Then just tuck the wiring up somewhere and you can either keep the black box if you are going to use it again or just throw it away. Hope this makes sense. |

Thanks for the replies folks I will check it out tomorrow.
The reason I want to disconnect is...The car is going to be a Taxi and I don`t want to be jump starting the car on cold mornings after a d***head driver has left the parkers on. This can happen if the driver tries to switch the headlamps off but in actual fact he switches the parklights on! Remember anything can and does happen where a cabbie is involved. Cheers all Rogie |

With B-series vehicles though .... even with putting it on parkers ... and turning the vehicle off ... lights turn off after approx 1 minute anyway ... so no chance of killing your battery.
I drive with lights on anyway ... but I prefer the manual way of switching them on and off

The lights on kit is a pain. Telstra, what more do you need to say?
Check out the installtion guide attached and you may be able to reverse the installtion.

talstra get cheaper insurance in they agree to fit lights on modules to ALL their vehicles, stats show that less likely to be in an accident if headlights are on
