Ok so i want to get just a catback exhaust system on my ba mkII xr6.... im not looking for people to tell me to go the full system cause 1. Im not allowed to on my P's in Queensland and 2. I dont have the money to spend on a full system.

so...

1) The guy at the shop is gonna charge me $550 for a 2.5" cat back (not sure which brand) with one rear muffler, and no muffler in the middle, with the tips included... has anyone else done/heard this before??

or

2) Would it be better getting a 2.5" redback cat back exhaust off ebay for cheaper and getting them to install it?? ive heard a couple of nice ones on youtube that say they have a redback system, which i believe still has the two mufflers yes??

if you have any info on this please post links, photos ect, please!! :) tough decision....

cheers guys

sounds like it comes with 2 mufflers, why dont you have a crack at fitting it yourself? just need some spanners or socket set and some diff stands to hold the car up high, and maybe 2 people to make it a quicker job, at worst youll need a grinder to get the old exhaust off.
Tuff car parts is a good place to buy from, i havent had a problem dealing with them

I would reccommend buying the herrod rear catback muffler or a decent brand as I'm just not a fan of redback..

That's mine. Sounds a little different now with the growler kit.

Ba_xr6, what's wrong with RedBack? Mine sounds a lot better than most XR6's I see kicking around.

i think that because he doesnt have a redback or because its cheap it instantly means its s**t.
my ef is a red back muffler and full mandrel bent system and it was 200 delivered to my door brand new and i liked the sound of it and it did give me some power gain so im not complaining

xforce +1
its what im running and love every second of it, no drone, doesn't scream "hello look at me" to all the cops. but under hard throttle it sounds as mint as a 6 cylinder falcon N/A ever will.
