tell them u want a "cat back 2 1/2" exhaust, with a straight through muffler" if u decide its to loud u can always add the resinator after, should cost about $250

the term "cat back" means they replace the exhaust from the catalytic converter to the tip. (i.e. does not include extractors and catalytic converter) the tip will look like whichever one u choose to put on, they will fit it on for u, it may cost extra for the tip, but some exhaust places throw in a tip if u buy an exhaust off them. u can choose anything from an oval tip to twin tips, have a look around, u will see some photos on here of different cars with different tips, u can make your mind up from there :)

TY Mr Man, I had the same question as Pinky, am hitting the exhaust shops tomorrow.
Am a big fan of the quad tip look on some GTP's and I want to do it to my Au, but the tip style I want is the same as the TS50 style one sticks out further then the other, any idea what the tips/style is called if I were to ask for it from the shop?.

Thanks :)

I recommend Lukey mufflers but I've heard good things bout Redback mufflers too.

Make sure its a MANDREL BENT SYSTEM, not press bent.

just tell them u want the tips like the TS50, they should be able to fit one for ya, from what u decribed, sounds like angled twin tips :D

Would it cost extra for bigger muffler boxes? and would it make any difference in the performance/sound of the car if you put more mufflers on? One more thing, does it cost any extra for mandrel bent?

I remember on my VL, i had a 2.5" but it wasnt mandrel bent. Everytime i went to throw it into 2nd when slowing down, the exhaust will make a loud reving sound. Do the mandrel bents do the same thing? I dont really mind about that particular sound, just wanted to know :)
cheers :)

more mufflers = less noise, if u worried about it being loud, if u order a red back system for example, u can ask for a tailpipe with or without a resinator.
the bolt on systems u buy for around the $250 mark are usually mandrel bent, just tell the shop u want a mandrel bent one.
and that revving sound u describe, sounds like engine braking to me :) and if u do it the falcon, it will still do it :)

u wont notice much unless u get extractors as well, a cat back is mostly for sound :)
