I actually had a probably 5" oval tip on mine, but when I got my new exhaust I got a dump tip put on mine. I dont mind it, looks good and is nice and shiny. I love the dual tips though, go one of them bob!

the venom bar has basically the same amount of room as the standard so i wouldn't worry about what u can fit in there. if i were to be honest, i would actually want bigger than what i've got now, but it's not a big issue.

Stick with the oval shape Fraser. Just get adjusted so it sticks into your bumper a little further so it sits flush.
Vics looks awesome. I had twins on the XR and didnt like them (sorry Kurt) and had it changed to an oval. |

Na, dont go the oval, it used far to often, on almost every commodore you see, and every where else.
I have nice clean polished round tip 2.5" hanging off the end of mine, just a poofteenth out from the bumper, but not past the outmost point. looks really good Daul tips are nice too |

Here's mine with dual tips (not angled):
^^ Server's down atm, i think... I've seen twin dumps on a TS50, and daim it looked hot. But you definately need to tuck the tip into the bumper a bit.

I say don't pretend to have something you don't actually have.
Be proud. Single exhaust - single tip.

Be proud. Single exhaust - single tip. So an oval tip on a round exhaust or 3" tip on 2 1/2" exhaust would also be pretending to have something you don't? The tips are there for cosmetics, yes, don't go drastic, but twin tips don't necessarily mean your pretending to have dual exhaust, just means that the twin tips look good on the rear of the car! |

Nope, disagree.
It's just become fashionable in recent years to whack dual tips onto a single exhaust in an attempt to emulate those vehicles that really did come out with twin singles running side by side. I have a 2.5 inch single exhaust which in reality is plenty big enough to pass the exhaust from a bigger motor. One exhaust hole, one tip.

I bought one yesterday for the new exhaust tommorow ( ) and its a oval one, not as big as Vic's but about 3.5" wide by 3" high, so almost round, with a rolled rahter than cut edge. Its replacing a 3" round stainless tip. Was damn hard to find the right one though, i knew the type i wanted and the 4 stores i went to had them but only with 2.25" inlet pipes, no 2.5" Ended up getting one at Autobarn Chadstone (after trying 2 Autobarns, 1 Supercheap and 1 Repco). Should look good once on, will get some nice photos after tommorow.

I understand that entirely and agree mostly; thing is when i had single exhaust pipe o had some nice twin tips on the end, but this was on the fairlane as they all had twin tips stock.. Now that ive got dual pipes i have a single oval tip lol; i like both but honestly dont think ill change it as it will proberly be too much stuffing around and i rather keep the stock exhaust as is untill i "need" to change it.

How about a DTM style tip? That's a twin (or single) upswept type tip. Can look very good on the right car...can also look craptastic on the wrong car.

Jase used to have a dumper on his previous EF ... and it looked damn neat ... was mostly hidden (ie: could only see the botton 3/4 of the tip ... the top section was hidden.
I have a dumper on the ute ... but I wanted mine hidden a bit more than it is ... oh well ... next time I will hide it better. OK ... it's on a ute ... but have seen it done on an EF sedan ... and looked very damn nice.
