I have recently purchased a EL XR6 and i have noticed that the red strip that goes around the car has faded to a pink.
Has anyone else done this and what would be the best way to go about getting it back up to a red?

U can buy this stuff it's called Glym bumper care or something. Give autobarn or and auto shop ago they should have it or something similar

Hey mate they are well known for doing this. My Ef did the same, I got some real light wet and dry and carefully sanded them back, I then got some cut and polish and polished the s**t out of them. They came up pritty good but it didn't last long before it went pink again.
Believe it or not but the best thing I accidentally found to make them red again was that stuff you spray on your tyres to make them black. Spray a bit on a rag and wipe over them, works a treat and lasts a fair while too. I am not sure if it works if you don't polish them first but you could give it ago.

NOT TYRE SHINE.
i used autoglym bumper care. bought them up on my EB. only problem is anything that rejuvenates bumpers etc is full of silicone. when the time come that i got the red strips professinally resprayed the paint kept reacting

BUMPERS Can you explain to me why it is stupid? It worked didn't it? Can you even explain the difference between bumper shine and tyre shine apart from the name? It is probably the same s**t.

Bowdens Own are putting out a plastic restorer soon. Theyve said it will return plastics to almost new condition and will last up to 2 years before re-application needed. Ive seen the bumpers its been tested on and I cant wait to get a bottle to be honest. Their gear is f**k good.

Depends what you call cheap. If its $40 a bottle its pricey initially but the bottle might last ya 5 years and treat 10 cars which will last for upto 2 yrs... I'll be getting some either way. Their polishes did it for me.

Hi mate yeah this is common prob I had Gunmetal EL XR8 with the cherry red strips I have seen whole new replacement strip sets for sale on E.bay I think they were being sold by Bayford Ebay shop.
