Hey Guys,
I tried searching the forums for an answer but the search does not seem to be working properly yet. I have a set of Fairlane/LTD chrome strips which go around the windows and doors and wanted to know if I could make them fit a Fairmont Ghia? I love my chrome and really want to put them on. Any suggestions? John. |

They should go on the front door with no problems but you'll have a lot of trouble with the back. In fact, it's easier to fit them to EA-ED Falcons than it is to fit them to EF/EL! On EF/EL sedans, the rear quarter windows have a one piece surround, with the lower window strip stopping at the front of the quarter window, so you'll have to find a way of running the lower chrome strip under the surround, and will have to customise the vertical chrome piece as it is completely different to Fairlane (remember it has the extra window behind the door). The top piece will need shortening as Fairlanes have a squarer quarter window than the sedans. Another thing, Fairlanes have a unique mirror base on the front doors, designed to fit the chrome strip, so If you use the standard mirrors, it won't really match.
