hey guys,

Ok, is Cat Back a brand or a style?

I will be carrying drums in the back a lot, so should I have the rear suspension a little softer than the front to stop my s**t bouncing around?

I'm thinking of putting an XR front end on (bumper and lights). Would that be expensive to do?

Tom

hey chief,

cat back means an aftermarket exhaust from CAT (catalyctic convertor) right though to tip. many people would recommend lukey, as do i.

and the XR front wouldnt be cheap.

and if you want your "s**t" to not bounce around, you'd be after some stiffer suspension. some springs, either lows or superlows would set you up well, king springs make good affordable springs!

good luck mate!!

(P.S. and dont get ripped off by exhaust places, prices can vary heaps)

Ok Cool. What is the difference between Lukey and Walker and all that? How much does a Cat Back system cost?

Tom

PS If I look at the XR front, could I go to a wrecker's place and get the headlights and bumper from there? Would that be any cheaper?

yeah mate but with wreckers you'll still be paying through the a** and maybe some wont be perfect they'd be defected in a way of cracked, dented, bad scratched just keep an eye out like shop around try Ebay you might get lucky

lukey Exhaust doesnt have a loud drone under heavy throttle its more of a nice loud but not very loud Revving sound

Walker never heard of them before

If you want anything too loud and overpowering, have a look at XR6T, XR8, Tornado, or Pursuit ute exhausts, they are a twin 2.25" exhaust, under no throttle, quiet as a mouse (well double as loud as your car is now anyway) under full throttle, they scream like a banshee.... It's an awesome, cheap upgrade if you're on a budget!

How can I hear what these sound like? How would I get it installed?

I've put a chrome tip on my exhaust for the time being.

Also, I'm looking at putting a K&N Pod Filter instead of a panel filter. They are the same price and apparently the Pod is meant to be better.

Any other tips? Pics soon!

IMO pods look wanky in engine bays, unless they are modified and mounted inside the original airbox.... you wouldnt get that horrible sucking sound as much either.

I don't think they look great, but you dont spend your time looking at the engine.

Would I have to get Ute exhaust systems to fit on the wagon? Or just standard sedan ones? Are they different sizes?

i think putting a nice set of rims and getting you ride height set is the best thing to start with. it totaly changes the look and can make a car really stand out. after that exhaust so people can hear you coming...

Yes, today I had scotchline come and look putting some GT stripes on the side of the car. I chose the 3in and 1 in Mk II stripes. Those are going on on Monday.

Next is lowering I suppose, but that might be quite pricey.
