Does anyone have any info on fitting post Au mags to pre AU models? I am looking to fit mags to my NCII Ghia Fairlane but have found it is pretty hard to find new mags to fit pre 2000 model fords (They are available but the range is pretty limited). I have been told that I need to fit 30mm bolt on spacers, but I do not know where to get them as the reputable tyre shops are telling me it is illegal to fit them? There are plenty of mags available on ebay and trading post but as I said they are all for post AU(2000) models. Any help would be appreciated. Mick :?

Update. Thanks to those who replied about spacers to fit post AU mags to my fairlane, but I have managed to locate a seller in Victoria who was very helpful in finding me the perfect set of wheels for my Fairlane in pre AU spec. Check out my pics just listed and I will update them once I have fitted the new wheels.
Honourable mention to Gary from Benalla Auto Industries. Check him out on Ebay. Seller ID "thekgb123" . Highly recommended to anyone looking for the perfect mag to suit your pre-AU Ford. :D

17's. I considered the 18's but they were just out of my budget. Still make a huge difference though. Had to put money towards LPG going in next week.

They say a picture says a thousand words!!!

But in this case it's simply "V8"

Hope the car show doesn't get cancelled BuNtEr. Did you hear about the security breach at Munmorah Power Station. Gren Peace Protestors breached the perimeter and the place is now in full lock down. Should be OK by then though. Fingers Crossed!

f**k hell, bloody do gooders lol. i hope its going to be ok.

you need to piss that clutch fan off, i can help you out with a cheap pair of EF/EL thermo fans for $50.

Also from the Y pipe under the car go 2 1/5 pipe with a lukey straight through muffler, and only 1 muffler piss the resonator off you don’t need it, doing that you will have a nice note out the a** end.

And that’s a nice 2 mods that are cheap to do, the zorst should not cost more than $400, and the pissing off of the clutch fan you will benefit from.

Will be considering working on the exhaust after LPG is done. Wife is whinging because she said it doesn't sound like a V8 unless you give it a bit. See why I have to get LPG. The missus is driving flat out everywhere just so she can hear the "V8 sound" as she puts it! lol.

What's the go with the clutch fan though? I know it has one but what is the issue with them. She doesn't run hot at all.

drain on the engine, sounds like your driving a turbo prob plane,
The clutch fan works too good at times and with the removel of it the car revs easer, some say it gives back a bit of power as the fan is taxing.

soon i had mine removed i could hear the sweet sound out the back, instead of that f**k fan all the time. starts easyer as it dont have that bloody fan to spin, and i gues less stress on the water pump shaft as well.
