My question is, is $6000 too much for a minor hail damage repair plus full respray?

i may be understating the hail damage, 70 dints mainly tiny but about 10 20mm in diameter dints. But the main problem is where the hail didn't dint the car it has shattered the clear coat. The roof and boot now have patches of micro crows feet. Hence the quote for a full spray

If they get a quote like that it will write the car off, not too keen on that prospect after spending 2000 on engine work less than a month prior
