I've bought myself an EL Falcon, everything stock, and I'm ready to change that. Any suggestions as to what I do first?

Well for starters i would fit a sound system.
Then i would work on physical enchancements. ie, wheels, tint, lowering and clear side indicators then engine wise i would work on a bit of air flow. ie, K & N panel filter, AU XR snorkel and exhaust.
But, seriously it's all about personal preferance and of course the money you are willing to spend on your ride.
Keep us posted on future upgrages.
Cheers lad. :D

My Advice, and take this very seriously or you will waste a lot of money like i did...

Decide from the very start whether you want looks, performance or both. You can spend about the same money on each and then try to get both and realise how pricey that can be.

My old EF Fairmont originally had the 16" tickford rims, body kit and the like, and i just bought things as i went along. Ended up spending about another $15,000 on a $14,000 car. Although i had spent money on making it quicker it never really was all that fast. It turned out looking pretty good, (depending on your preferences) but so much work meant things started to go wrong. Although i liked the car, i would have spent that $15,000 differently.

Superchargers are far more efficient for the money than what i did piece by piece... I have now upgraded to an EL XR8, and i am getting about 150kw at the wheels. Theres no replacement for displacement...

If you want a picture or two of my Fairmont and the XR8, let me know, and i will send them through. It may give you a few ideas...

Best of luck,
phil_rohan10@hotmail.com

Hi Daniel,

I am a bit of a novice with some of this stuff, and i get the royal s**t with all the pop up message stuff on MSN so i do not use it. I cant get your email address with out being an MSN Member, so i can send you some photos through if you can reply to my personal email address...

If you want to know what has been done so far to the XR, i have posted that topic on V8 Workshop under 'Recommended Mods for an EL XR8.' I like the idea of roller rockers and underdrive pulleys and i think that will be the next little venture.

Glad your interested to see he photos- I look forward to hearing from ya.

Cheers,
Phil

You could make it look a bit classier buy color coding the black mouldings around the car and the wing mirrors. Comparing my fairmont and falcon now thats the first thing i notice and i hate the look of it.

Yer, couldnt agree more - go to town colour coding and taking off stickers n s**t like that!
Even pin stripes and so on, just clean it up in terms of looks, remove mud flaps n bonnet protectors and other useless/ugly items imho.
Get a nice set of number plate covers, why dont people do this?!
It DOES make a difference people, and we do notice them lacking
