$50 seems pretty like a pretty good price..
but it depends on the condition?? i got my nl fairlane ghia trims for $80 and they are excellant condition. but on the other hand i have seen them on ebay go for $150-$200. so thats good as far as im concerned.. |

Thats a bargain for a decent set.
I nearly paid 200 once for set like that, ended on going higher so i passed it up in the end but yeah, proves the bargain are out there if your willing to put in the legwork and look for them.

hahaha, mate those are just fairmont front trims the rears aren't semi complete fairlane ghia, none have the woodgrain, or courtesy lights.
you'll be stretching you might get someone chasing the electric wondow conversion. EL fairmont ghia doortrims with woodgrain courtesy lights, rear map pockets on the other hand are worth more like 100-200

Thats what these ones are ... it's not real wood, but all of them have the strip along the top.. they are dusty, but in pretty much perfect nick..
There is a bit of glue on the drivers side one where someone tried to stick the woodgrain back down, but the glue is like araldite and peels straight off so not really an issue, but otherwise they are spotless and have the lights down the bottom and map pockets etc.. Seems I did good., good to know as I hate getting taken for a ride.... |

Cant find real wood these days.. i have recently bought the ghia trims thet aint real wood ones. Haha yeah..the ones i have are like half and half, i didnt like the rears having the padded arm rest on mine so i took it off and put it on the fairmont trims and now selling it. But really how much would the real wood trims have cost around? are they the same range as the plastic ones....since many people on ebay sell the plastic ones as same price range as the real wood ones. I don't get why do they do that.

I spose if you really wanted to.. you could make real wood ones.. they are not that complex a shape and you could make them from pine and stain them afterwards.. not much cost just lots of fiddling for a few hours..
who knows.. if I run out of things to do, I may try it.. Last edited by frankieh on Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:05 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Well twas always my plan to reveal my sources.. I have 3 places I go for bargains now.. I can also get good AU motors for 200ish dollars if I want them..
However, I don't want to have to complete with you fordmodders for all the bits I want..... so logic says I shouldn't tell you till I have all the bits I need then I'll cut sick and sing their praises out... For example, these kind souls have said they don't mind if I go over one Saturday and take the whole dash and entire wiring loom from al EL fairmont ghia (without custer or trip/clock) but still, that means that I'll essentially have all the bits I need to convert my car entirely to ghia standards. (already have most of the other bits I need.) Oh, I can also pick up the door electrics as well so I can actually use these ghia trims and add ABS to my EL while I'm there.. All because I did a good deed for someone without expecting payback... handy that. |

Sweet, I just spent the last hour with a stanley knife carefully removing the araldite from the area around the wood trim where it had leaked out.. came out perfect so I now have perfect EL fairmont Ghia trims.. ghia badges and all..
now I just need power windows so I can put these bad boys on the car... |
