Hey I need my guards rolled for my ed xr6 as it keeps lipping the front.
Got a few quotes cheapest was $160 for all four corners on the gold coast. Or I can buy my own guard rolling machine from eBay for $94 posted My question is has anyone used one and would it be very hard?

That quote sounds about right, most place's I've seen typically charge $40-$60 a corner.
The tool is pretty simple to use really. All you do is bolt it to the hub, adjust the height and angle of the roller wheel, use the winder adjustment to put appropriate pressure on the lip, then just roll it back and forth, gradually adjusting the angle, height and pressure until the lip folds in on itself. Use a heat gun to warm up the paint before rolling (pays to try keep the paint warm throughout the job too), helps prevent paint cracking around the folded edge. |

When ever I have needed to roll the guards on any of my cars I've used a steel pipe....Place the pipe between the tyre and the guard then one person drives forward slowly while another person keeps an eye on the pipe. Kind of a bush mechanics approach to guard rolling but it works well.
