Hi guys,

My name is Troy and I've only been on fordmods for a little while (came from Fordforums.com.au.

I couldn't find much information on spray paint jobs. Thought I might post a thread to try and get as much information from you guys as possible with your experiences with workshops.

I want to respray my EA GHIA. It is very very straight. My budget is between $3K-$4K and I'm in Sydney.

*How much am I looking at and what colour is the cheapest (would presume white?).

If you can post your spray paint job, cost, type of paint and how much it cost that would be great.

If you know of any decent spray/body shops in Sydney let me know

Thanx guys

check out some local body shop supply's my paint (shockwave) cost me as much as the standerd paint (chilli red) to buy, try asking shops if they let you do all the preping and supply the paint and clear to reduse the cost of the job.

If they would be preping the car (don't have much knowledge on paint and body work) for the paintjob how much do you reckon?

How much did you pay for your paintjob

So $3-$4K for a good paint job. Is that normal paint or pearl paint?

Anyone else get a paintjob lately. If so list it in the thread. Trying to create a guide for others as well.

Thanks to those for info so far. Keep it coming.

About 4k should get you a pretty good paint job, but for that price it depends who you go to, if you want pearls, and to change colours or anything like that.
Your best bet, if no one on here has any recommended spray painters, is to have a drive around on a Saturday if you have time, and speak to the guys in person about what your plans would be, and talk $$$$
