Hi,
I am wanting to upgrade my headlights and fog lights on my BF XR6 to those ultra white globes. I am not sure what they are or what will fit. I do want to keep it all legal though. I have seen a few which have a blue tint to them but I would really like a very pure white without the blue since its for my black car. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to what I will need? Cheers Brett.

yeah the ones you want are, "crystal golw" there $100 from autobarn they are legal and the globe is a h4, from experience you will want to do the foglights due to looking dull, they are a h3.

i put in Narva Arctic Blue 4000k globes. they give me the cleanest white light in my EB. they're not cheap though. $45 for low beams, $45 for high beams, and i have 4 parkers so it was $20 for parkers

I was just looking into the phillips bulbs and I came across the "Chromium White 4200K" in H3 & H4. Has anyone tried these? It says they are even whiter (or does that mean more blue?)
Apparently on the webiste it claims that Phillips Chromium White 4200K and Phillips Crystal Vision 4300K globes are not approved for road, so i am guessing that they may be illegal if the police can be bothered pulling you over for them?

yeh legally the brightest you can go in 4000k. but who cares? people drive around with 12000k xenon lights

I assume then that 4000K is still in the blue spectrum? The white ones I am looking at by Phillips come in 4200K and 4300K versions. Would they be noticably different to be picked up by police over the 4000K?

mine are 4000k and they are white. they have a very very very slight tinge of blue. and over 4000k is really dazzling. cops will notice it. but they couldn't prove it unless you have a xenon kit hanging off your lights

contacted narva about their lights and they suggested Blue power as being their clostest light to white. I think it comes in at 3750K.
I am really not sure now if i should go Blue Power or Arctic blue. haha.

the temperature scale isnt a measure of brightness, its a measure of colour. 12000K will be dark as and hardly even light up the road. 4000K is approaching the most bright you can get. I think it is 5200K from memory (the same colour as day light) but i may be wrong |

Hey guys sorry to highjack the thread but i was wondering for an ef mont doing the high /lows and parkers what globes would i need? i.e h3/h4 etc?

They may be slightly purple but they are VERY bright and not to meantion would draw the cops from miles away.

candlepower is the measure of light output.
3200K lights are really yellow because 3200K is yellow on the colour scale 8000K will be more blue, so it proly looks brighter but may actually have less usable light. I'm not going to go right into, but look it up for yourselves if you don't believe me. |
