OK this probably won't work but I was wondering what people think. The sanding/polishing of EF/EL yellowed headlights doesn't seem to last and new Fairmont ones are worth a fortune. I looked at Hyena's headlights post (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... headlights) and was wondering if I took the front lens off my headlight, so it had the kind of chrome look with clear cover, then attatched a pair of light covers onto the front replacing the yellowed lens, how it would, and if it would be practible. Would the lights be way too bright or would it burn the covers?

If you know what you are doing, you can always manufacture a set of new lenses to replace the yellowish ones.

Can be done and has been done.

Mate get HID lights, get new headlights. There you go, never have yellow headlights again (I think).

I read in my EF owners manual that I should only use the genuine Ford globes otherwise you will get yellow headlights, hence I guess why everyone has yellow lenses. No one can afford the Ford globes. HAhA..

It has nothing to do with the globes.

Polycarbonate doesn't like UV's

do a search on google, theres about 40,000 sites with so called fixes and preventative measures.

polish them up as described many times before.
Then perhaps try the stick on covers from k-mart?
I am thinking of trying this.
I have tried polishing up some very grotty lights and it worked out great. The problem now is that having sanded off the UV layers They will need some fresh protection. Perhaps the maguiers plast-x polish used regularly will help?
