Hey, here is the story! (EF Falcon Futura)
1. On saturday i cleaned my headlights removing the yellow film they had across them 2. I then changed the bulbs in my low beams, as I thought they were very dim! Once night had come I went out for a drive to test my lights. They were alittle bit brighter but not much. I then took my dads SS-Z out and compared his lights to mine! I dont think my low beams are getting enough voltage, or was there a problem with this model? Thanks PS: When i put my High Beams on they seem bright enough to be my Low Beams! |

Yeah the headlights are s**t. The easiest and best solution get an XR front end on her.
I don't know if the lights in the twinlight (http://www.twinlights.com.au) headlights are any better, but I doooubt they can be worse. Or to help it a bit install some extra driving lights in brake ducts or were ever. |

I would do this in my opinion the dispersion of light from the XR setup in the EF/EL more so EFs are worse than stock...due to particular the EF holes causing the beam pattern to pencil more. The only option available is to put in some decent normal halogen bulb like philps crystal/diamond visions...cant remeber which was better..id have to speak to my old man he knows a fair bit on this.....or spend quite abit more and go full on xenon gas disharge HIDs....

I still don't think HID aree going to be thee answer, as that's only changing the globe type. you still have the problem of s**t headlight housings and poor design!

Take some close up pics of the headlights, showing the inside of the reflectors and post hem here. With the lights off. Also take a pic of the lens from the side to show what the lens looks like. By the way doesn’t your dad’s SSZ have projectors??? If so, it is like comparing your Halogen headlights with a match or a candle.

Why dont i just drive around with my high beams on all the time then?

because high beams point upwards aswell as on the road, so although it may look like they are only putting as much light on the road as normal headlights, oncoming traffic will be blinded.

It is not the total answer, but it is a lot better than the standard lights. The light is a lot brighter. The downside is that you have to adjust the beam (or at least the drivers side) so that it is lower than normal. If you dont adjust the beam, other cars will flash you as they think you are using high beam
