I mounted mine against the side panelling in the engine bay within the guard ... next ot the battery and also next to the airbox ... and hid all of my cabling ... as much as I could.

I ran my grouond to the fuse box bolt and also to the airbox bolt going into the engine bay panels.

Anyone good at electronics to try and sort this load issue I am having ... I wanna get the lights to work 100%

If i get the high beams working properly ... I might not have to mount the Lightforce light to the front of the ute.

Cool .... like how you have modified the headlight backing ... I couldn't modify the rubber over mine .... too much of a hassle.

Plus my kit can work underwater ... hee hee.
I have tested them ... haven't had an issue with headlight fogging up either which is good.

The only way I could use the covers on the back of the XR lights would be chopping the HID cables and rejoining.. I'll leave them off for now and see what happens.

I wouldn't mind dropping around and checking them out and see how you have it wired up ... what are your covers like on the back of the XR lights???? Might have to do what Regie did if they are a same cover.

Hi guys,

Initially when they invented Xenon HID light system there were 2 different types of Original Xenon bulbs manufactured and used by OEM manufacturers. Namely: D2R and D2S.
HID-D2R & HID-D2S Xenon bulbs can ONLY be used on vehicles equipped with factory Xenon Headlights OR, applications where D2S or D2R bulbs are specifically called for. Other vehicles will require a conversion kit in order to enable installation of so called “genuineâ€￾ Xenon Headlights.
D2R bulbs were originally designed for Mercedes-Benz. D2S bulbs (used initially by BMW.

But, since the existing cars on the roads were a lucrative and untapped market and sooner or later someone was going to want to upgrade their headlight from Halogen to Xenon, (rather than buying a new car fitted with a far superior headlight kit). The after market manufacturers started looking at kits for these vehicles.
So they had to manufacture Xenon bulbs (Conversion Kits) that had the same fitting as the Halogen bulbs in these vehicles. Such as: H1, H2, H3, H4, H7, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007 and so on. See Picture bellow.

So, if your car is fitted with say a H4 you must order a Xenon kit fitting H4.

Waggin It is highly unfortunate for you that you got the wrong fitting, because if you got a H3 and you try to insert the H3 in a H1 socket it is like trying to push a round peg in a square hole.
There is a substantial difference between H1 and H3 see the picture.
H1 is the long one and as Hyena said it is a matter of not fitting the centre of the focal point of your projector.

In regards to Mechan!k, unless I see exactly what happens, at this time it is like giving a medical check up without seeing the patient.
But, I am 100% sure that you can not squeeze blood from a stone.
Xenon bulbs DO NOT have more than one function either Hi or Lo BUT not both from the same bulb (unless it is The smart EMAS system).
So, all I can think of now is that you have an electrical malfunction or have connected the kit wrongly. (Just a guess).
If you could take good pictures or describe what exactly happens in much more detail, it might make it easier to give to a proper solution to the problem.

By the way, ReGiE, is the Discharge units mounted to the air box on top of the fuel lines????? Very Bold and Daring of you.

By the way to remove some of the electrical interference that is created by the Discharge Units, it is highly recommended that the Unit (Box) is mounted so that it is Earthed. Otherwise it could interfere with your vehicles computer (if you have one), Mobile Phones (both in and outside the vehicle) and some Radio/CB transmissions.

Have fun,
mavs19

Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure that when I purchased H1's they'd produce good light :D

On the note of interference, I get a slight bit through my sound system when the unit is first turned on, otherwise all good!

mavs19.

I am going to get some pics if I can of them on both high and low beam ... I know they do it ... just not correctly at the moment ... I suspect there is a wiring issue of some sort.

Still looking into this problem.

I'll try and get close up pics of the globe turned off if i can for you as well.

I think Regie took close up pics of mine turned on.

I don't get interference from them at all ... only from my work two-way radio when data is being sent through to my job screen.
