Some good news.

I was just informed that there is a seller on US eBay that is selling Bi-Xenon Projectors, Xenon bulbs and ballasts etc.... from BMWs.

Anyone of you guys want to give it a go here is the link.
I had a look at his store and his prices look very good.

http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsass ... hQ21Q21Q21

WHY must you tempt me

Which kit do i need to buy?

You need to get:

2 BMW Xenon Ballast kit
2 Bosch Bi-Xenon Projectors 3"
2 D2S Xenon bulbs.

Rest we will manufacture here.

Unless you can find a kit containing all the above as one kit.

Ok Im guessing;

Are those projectors ok with all the electricaly stuff exposed?

Also whats the differenence between those projectors and the ones that apprear black within the headlight?

Ill purchase that stuff soon.. and it will be a bi-xenon conversion?

Its a fair bit of money but im guessing its worth it

The wiring is going to be OK, since they and the solenoid is going to be behind the reflector of your headlight assy. Between, the reflector and the back side of the headlight housing. Some of it (depending on how much room you got in your headlight housing), is, MAYBE going to stick out at the back, but that is fine.

The ones that are black are a complete headlight assy. Which can replace the original ones on certain older models on BMWs.

As I mentioned before, once you cut the hole in the reflector, if you want you can paint the inside of the old Halogen reflector in black or even in matching colour to the vehicle.

I understand that it is a fair bit of money. If you can’t get these parts now there are constantly new one popping up on the US eBay more or less every week.

It seems they got more people, more BMWs and more accidents.
And YEEEEEEES it is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT.

A very observant and good question.

It is due to the different type of lenses used in different projectors.

If the lens is clear (without any grooves etched in it) and you look at it in an angle from the side. It looks like if it is “Black/Dark Greyâ€￾.
On the other hand if light penetrates through the lens properly, it then looks “clearâ€￾.

You have to look very closely at the lens to see the grooves etched at the backside (The flat surface of the lens).
That is if there are any grooves etched in the lens.

So it is not the lens that is black, but the way light is reflected in it that makes it look black or dark.
Can you imagine the result if the lens was black or dark coloured??
You would loose most or all of the light produced by the bulbs.

By the way if you compare the eBay prices with new ones it is a steal.

I was going to post some good pictures, but got a message telling me that I had reached my maximum upload limit of 5MB.
What is that????Is there a tmie limit on how much you can upload???

Hay ya im thinking of purchasing those projectors but I think the problem is shipping them. Like how does the stuff get through customs and stuff? Iv heard a few horror stories of customs and that charging huge prices before.

Im thinking ill buy some of those 50% brighter bulbs from repco made by narva for $30. They look like stock bulbs and they are not blue but im wondering will it really be 50% brighter.

Out of all those projectors on ebay which do you think are the best to buy?

I've just decided to go for the bi-xenon using the standard or as mavs19 called it the (halogen) reflector.

Those are merely STORIES. Told by someone who is looking for attention and wants to add some spice to their life and stories.
I have been importing from all over the planet since 1985 and will be importing stuff for my cars and motorcycles as long as I find something worth importing.

As for the 50% stronger bulbs, light does not work that way.

Since there was a lot of confusion amongst few of you guys on this thread, as to what is needed and where to find the right stuff. I asked one of the guys in our studio to do me a favour and find a complete and cheap Bi-Xenon kit on the net.

The parts on US eBay that I have referred to are the best you will find for the money right now.
Whether you (or anyone else who is in the market) buy these items, at this time these are the best available.

Once again: as soon as SOMEONE gets the right bits and pieces necessary for this operation, we will go through the next step.

Good for you.
From now on We will call you : THE BLUE DISCO GUY.

It is somewhat disheartening that the information on this thread has not been clear enough.
But, hey, such is life.

At least try to keep the Temp. of the bulls to max. 6000K.
To understand why look at the light chart I posted earlier on this thread.
You want to keep it in the WHITE region on the chart. NOT the BLUE, NOT the PURPLE and definitely try to keep out of the BLACK region.

If you don't want to go to the expense of HID, then they're a good upgrade over stock bulbs. They still however are far from the quality of HID.

I'm running a set of Phillips BlueVision (they're not blue, just the bulbs are tinted blue), and do provide a whiter and brighter light output, again not as good as HID, but for the money worth it over stock halogen bulbs.

Howver next time I'm ready for new bulbs, I'll be getting HIDs.

If i had the cash at the moment ... I'd get the full headlight set

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-05-BM ... dZViewItem

$600US (but doesn't post outside the US/Canada region though ... grrr)

This is the full set with everything included in it ... then there is a fully motorised E46 headlight I think it was as well .... minus a few parts though.

But i got rego and greenslip due very soon ... and currently working to pay off the crap holiday i just had as well. Grrrrr.

Remember the link I posted earlier?
That guy was selling a complete Audi TT Xenon HID Projectors, Bosch Ballasts, D2S Bulb all for only US$290,00 which would be ONLY AUD381.25
If you keep on looking you will sooner or later be bound to find a real good deal.
Believe it guys, every Cent/Dollar spent of getting a real HID Bi-Xenon Projector is worth 100 times over..
And remember, you only need the projector guts of a headlight assy. Rest of it (The Housing) is of no use to you.

Also if it says will only deliver in USA. It is only what the eBay standard selling form says.
Ask seller if they deliver overseas and in 99.99% of the time they do.
