i am pretty sure you should be able to ... as long as there is room in the back of the light to fit the globe .... as the back of the globe is LOOOONG for the converted HID globes. Also need room to run the extra cabling out the back of the light as well.

spose there is only 1 way to find out for sure.

Performance wise if they go in they should be better than the standard 100watt globes?

And would the be better in both pencil and spread types of lenses?

thanks for quik reply

If you are looking for Auxiliary Driving lights why go through the hassle of buying a driving light, then finding a Xenon kit and then retrofitting the kit in the driving lights???
Not only it is waste of money but also waste of time.

Get yourself a complete ready made Auxiliary Driving Kit .

Here is the link for the one Hella sells.

http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogu ... maint=2104

But remember that an Auxiliary Driving Kit will only work as Hi beam.

Or do you have something else in mind??

Only problem with the HID kit is the "warm-up" time (approx 2-5 secs to full brightness). And the 2-3 sec delay before shutting off (after turning them physically turning them off ... they stay on.

Some kits will turn on and off immediately though ... I have seen one of these kits ... can't remember the brand though.

I was thinking about doing this to my Lightforce 240 driving/spot lights ... but I find the 100w globe in them is plenty bright enough ... also the LightForce 240 HID version is available for sale anyway ... as a one-piece light with inbuilt ballast and wiring ... but it's about $1100 for the pair.

Mind you ... with a light range of just over 2km straight ahead ... and a very wide beam pattern at the same time ... no other company has come close to these lights ... ever.

ill check out the lightforce ones, thank mech.

mav the problem with those lights is there 2 small, Im more after spot lights than everday use driving lights.

Warm up and down doesnt worry me. Main reason i was looking into them is a saw those globes that give off that purple light and i thought they would be exellent for hunting purposes.

You said it.

SOME KITS WILL TURN ON AND OFF IMMEDIATELY THOUGH....

Hella is one of them.

Remember Osram and Hella are the 2 companies in the forefront of this industry and everyone else is copying them.
That is one of the reasons why both of these companies are used by OEM.

If you think of it, the cost of a good Auxiliary Driving Light kit and your Xenon kit is going to be more or less the same as buying a ready made Xenon Auxiliary Driving kit.
BUT, then again you got something that was put together by professionals as something home made.

I agree with you, 2 Km is extremely good.
But you would hardly be able to use it on busy road full of other Traficant.
You would be flashing your headlights between Hi and Lo all the time with No time to concentrate on your other driving skills.

Seeing as I just moved out to a rural area with no lights out there ... I will find my Lightforce lights excellent. But for anyone in the metro area .. they are overkill.

If i had the cash I'd get the Lightforce 240HID ... but I got the model below ... still bright enough (the 100w 24cm diameter lights were test by the main 4WD mags and they have never seen anything as bright ... till they tested the HID models ... LOL)

I need to find mylsef a set of decent fog lights as well ... and I think either a set of narva or Hella jobbies will do my perfectly.

I know most Xenon kits thoughh are highly illegal for normal road use espescially since most hella etc products are low beam replacements ... any one with xenons been booked ?

It also comes down to how you drive as well ... if you don't cruise in well patrolled areas ... and don't bring too much attention to yourself ... you should be fine though.
