It makes no diff if u use a LED or a bolb they make like using the same power sorce in much the same way(well one has a element and one dont) id like to know how a LED would do that.

I'm not sure about that. The cruise control won't work if you have any brake light bulbs out. The system uses this circuit to disengage when the brake pedal is used. It may sense an open circuit when LEDs are used, as they are a diode, not a mechanical circuit ie. bulb filament. Interesting.

Molloy, I was behind an EF with Altezzas on Friday night and yes, they were quite pink! I've never been big on them, but they did look quite nice on the white Fairmont. I'm pretty sure Narva supply a quality red brake/tail light bulb.

Use LED's. and use a resistor in parallel with each tail light bulb circuit to get them up to the same resistance as the bulb. Just make sure you select one that is of a high enough wattage not to get too hot.

Have you tried replacing them with a decent brand version? Narva make them - might be better.

Red Lens Dye - designed for fixing up faded taillight lenses but works equally well on bulbs with a couple of coats. Should be available at most auto parts stores, I got some from my local AutoPro. Also comes in Amber (for indicators) and possibly other colors as well.
