they seem to be painted black on the inside, same with the indicaters. has anyone done this to theres.

i'd assume you would take the outer plastic face off, then mask the insides or something. A quick project before the cruise eh?

Please not another "black sectioned headlight" (??) mod on an EF/EL....

Personally reckon it looks stupid, but if you want to do it the easy way, then buy some headlight protectors, then spray and ruin them instead.

maybe. i dont think i could do it before than though, perhaps later on, just wanna see how easy it would be to do.

i think the way it has been done before was in the oven. put the light in the oven to softent he adhesive then pry them apart

nah all they did was tape it up and spray the section they wanted black, i dont think they would pull the lense off just for that.

To do it properly you need to remove the lens, if you just spray it on the outside it'll look chatty.

Do a search for my thread on it (and also heed the warnings about buggering your lights if you leave them in the oven too long! :lol: )

this mod looks great! not tacky when done on the inside as pictured. tho indicator should match in.

DONT spray the outside. at best, itll be shiny only on the bits that havent been painted and dull the rest. the pics show the frames inside to be painted. wouldnt that affect the light reflection? leave them as they are...

have seen hyena's lights at night time and they are still very bright by far even after the black high lighting was added... :wink: although i do believe he had HID's.. :wink:
