personally i would just buy a driving light wiring kit from Super Crap for $25 and follow the directions..... although there might be an easier way to use the existing loom?
you need to tap into the parker light or high beam lamp, which ever one you want to trigger the light, plus you need a switch and a relay... all of these the kit will have |

duno how u would do it, but just to let u know they run indicator bulbs which are piss weak, so wont put out much light at all..

do what i did to my BA after they got converted to 'cornering lights'
i just cut the damned wires and spliced to the parkers to make them the way they used to be... not all that bright as said before but i wanted mine just for looks really |

They actually do produce a fair amount of light, I was surprised myself. Not sure how they manage it. f**k all actually goes forwards though, it all goes out the sides. Mine are wired as fogs. Of course the angle makes them useless like this. I will probably soon swap them for a set of Circle Narva/Hella driving lights hidden behind the brake vents. I used an economy switch from an EL with a bench seat, it is shaped like the demister button and fits up in the same panel. I just painted it black. I wired an ACC feed from the cig lighter, through the switch, to a relay which then powers the lights. Very easy. Tried switching from the parker circuit instead of acc so they could only be used with the lights on, but all it did was turn the parkers on, not sure why. Also haven't got the fog symbol in the cluster working despite my best efforts. Still not bad. |

bahaha, thats exactly how i did it. Except, i ran it through the interior lights, for the relay trigger, and spliced that twice, once to light up the switch itself, and one to feed a trigger rely rather than the cig light, so they only come on with parkers. I was thinking about hooking the up to the high beam bulb on das but decided i needed more for lows not highs..
Also same issue with the fog light bulb in the dash, I've had my dash out for the past 3, 4 weeks trying to work it out whenever I have time. It was mentioned in a tech but think we lost t with the changeover as I can't find it anymore, and not finding any solid continuity to it, only through diode or high resistance or something of that nature, maybe the cluster got a short somewhere even.

OZBMX I'm glad it's not just me. I remember the tech doco said something about a resistor or diode needed for the EL cluster, but I have an EF. You are a genius, I spliced off the cig lighter for the relay trigger. I just move it to the cig lighter's illumination and I'll try that.

haha glad to help. anyway just a quick update, I also have the ef cluster to.
Anyway got the fog light dash light working today. I think I know what I did wrong initially, which was simply stupidity due to a rush, that had me checking everything else first. Anyway to setup the fog dash light, simply connect a wire, adding an extra pin to the third pin on the left hand cluster plug. Remove paper backing off cluster board, may need to disassemble to get it off properly. Add a bulb/bulb holder, splice into the relay trigger wire to the cluster to power the bulb. wala, factoryishhh install.

Yep. Read the cluster information tech doco. For an EL cluster you have to add a diode to enable it from memory.
OZMBX, I've done all that and it still doesn't work. ARGH! |

Interesting, tested the bulb? connection are all good, you turned the lights on?

Tried two different bulbs. Tried everything. Not sure what I've missed. I'll get around to it one day.
What kind of switch did you use for yours? I still cant find a demister switch surround with three holes in it... |

haha, yeah wiring in a ford is kinda like that,
Fairmont wagons (antenna, demister, rear wiper)and column shift wagons(economy, demister, rear wiper) have them.

cant you simply run splice your parker/hi beam globe wires and add in the two wires for the spotties? then it would run when their turned on?
