I'd say the genuine ford ones cost about
100 times dearer than any other brand.......
That's how I'd pick em..

Hmm just to clear it up... Thier is a Part number.. but no tickford or ford logo. My car is 100% genuine and if thier was a Ford logo embossed on it then it would be on the other side of the bottom plastic bit.

Unless mines not genuine...... Hmm that raises some interesting questions :?

after market vents are made from normal fibreglass - not plastic like ford(compressed fibreglass)
when you buy them new the vents come in a carboard box , unlike the plastic bag that the aftermarket 1's come in :P

g'day cobber

the ford ones have part numbers on the inside of upper and lower parts I think there is a tickford wing too. they are fiberglass (I had to file the curve out of mine to fit the bonnet) the ford ones have 4 metal stud's to bolt uppers to lowers (not sure about the aftermarket ones think they are flat and you apoxy them down.) I got mine second hand but had to by a new passanger side lower and it alone cost $160 approx.

If I had to do it again I would cut a dammaged xr bonnet up and take the mounting section out and weld it into your bonnet as trying to get the vent's to curv properly was a nightmare. or just go aftermarket good luck
