Im hoping to get 30K out of my Dunflops that are on ther atm, the car is at 28912 atm, so yay. Looking at getting a set of Firestones @ $225 each. yay for me

i got a set of yokahamas on the back of mine and not impressed with there milage bald 29 000km no burnouts taking it easy.
altho if u want a tyre that holds up in harsh conditions i was impressed with toyo transpaths that i had a couple of years ago s**t grip s**t traction but lasted 20 000km under hasrsh conditions burnouts + quite a few donughts and a lot of sliding around corners.

Tyres in my opinion is the most important component to your car, so "invest" in a good set, it could mean life or death.
My car may not be the fastest or flashiest, but the car that has a good set of quality tyres will get my vote.

Ive got Cdrives on the audi, done about 10 000kays and they still look fairly new, but i spose it weighs alot less then the falcon... I have them on the back of the ED and they are down to maybe 30% after 3000 kays

What are you guys doing to wear out your Yokis so quick?
I have Yokohama A500s in 215/60/16 on mine, and have done 57,000kms on them so far, will replace them at 60,000 as the rubber is starting to go off, but I'm not even at the depth markers yet... I too have the same dillemna of what to replace them with. Same tyre, same size $150. C'Drives, same size $150, C'Drives in 225/55/16 $270!! I wouldnt mind going the bigger size, but for an extra $120 a tyre...

I have currently got Dunlop 3000As on the BA wagon (XR 17" wheels) which have lasted me 82,000kms - couldn't be happier with them as far as long lasting goes, but I will probably be putting Yokohama C-Drives on next to try them since so many people seem to be saying that they are good, we always used to use Yoko's until they stopped the 509s which in my opinion is when they turned to s**t.

Yeah sounds like some people are getting pretty good milage out of thier tyres, damn it must be my excessive acceleration all the time
 Think i should work on that more than anything.
But yeah im definately sticking to the chunkier tyres on the rears, lol i love that raised look it has. 
Might just do a quote from a few different stores and see what they can offer me, might try to bargain a bit too. if i can get some good quality tyres for under $150 each i will be lovin it

Underinflation is probably a good point most car manufacturers reccomendations are for a comfortable ride not longevity of the tyres. I run the 235/45r17's at 40psi.

Yeah that might be why the tyres are wearing out pretty quickly. On the 225's i am keeping the psi at 33-35 most times i do check them every fortnight and try to keep air in them.

33-35 is alright xrfan.
Do you rotate them? Also where are they wearing? Evenly, or are you burning out the inside/outside shoulders quicker?

Havent had them rotated for a while, but they are wearing evenly, so its only the middle of the tyre that is wearing out.
I do have a spare tyre that is same size etc.. but i would rather not use that and just get new tyres at the end of the month.
I have mudflaps so cops cant see s**t if they are driving behind me lol
