Hi all, im back! ...again :P

I was browsing eBay this week and came across a Black EL Ghia that had just been put up. It was stock as and seemed in fair nick, not something that had been recently resprayed.

I checked back the following morning and someone had already bought it :( a Black EL Ghia is basically one of my dream cars, and my question is does anyone know how many were made?

A friend of mine in Adelaide said to me they were only available as a "funeral director option" and isnt a part of the factory colour catalogue. dunno if thats true or not.

I probably wont see another one for sale for ages, and it makes me sad :(

I knew the late Fairlane's and LTD's (late '98) were available in the AU black (silhouette).
I didn't know that any Fairmont's got it.

If the one in the ad is really a '97 model, it's definitely not a factory colour
But damn does that first pic look good!

Quite a few cars would have been ordered by Funeral Parlors and painted black when new.

Cheers

No EF/EL came in Black from the factory. That's been resprayed at some point.

Only NL/DL's came in black, and from what I remember when my old man used to work at ford, only 20 or so DL's ever came in black.
