Found the way.
Its peanut butter I s**t you not. No it doesn't matter if its crunchy or smooth. Smooth is better for applying it however. Craft or d**k's doesn't matter either. As long as its peanut butter. Guy at work told me about it and showed me how it cleaned up the polish and wax stains on his mud flaps. They look new. Also that pesky spot on the on the side mirror surround. I've just tried it on my side mirror surround and instantly it works. Apply it to the area that is whited out by the polish and then remove. I reckon its something to do with the oil in it and the grainy texture of the peanut butter. I also just tried it on my red side mouldings on my XR8. They are faded to a light pink colour but now its come back to a lustrous red. I will say a word of caution don't get it on your paint because of the grainy texture don't want it to damage your paint work. Also get rid of all traces of it from cracks and gaps because otherwise ants may find a liking to your car and 1 million of them may haul off your car when they get a whiff of the stuff on your car. Next time I go shopping I'll get one peanut butter for the pantry and one for the garage. In the words of Dilmah "Do try it" |

interesting... might give it a go when i get my car back from the shop... and as a bonus... car would probably smell better after being "peanut buttered" than drowned in chemichals...

lolI was too. Try it on a spare mud flap or inconspicuous area first. Then when you trust me try it on the main problem areas. |

If it works so well, maybe you could get some peanut oil straight up and try it. Maybe even patent the idea haha

Yeah you could but I think the grainy texture also helps in the peanut butter. Peanut oil wouldn't be grainy and might not help get out the white marks.
But maybe your right. |

Well its been 4 days and there is no sign of the white haze coming back on the black plastic.
I've also bought some peanut oil to test with that but so far it looks as thought the peanut butter works and the oil doesn't. |

im in shock ...
it actually works! i used a little bit on the rear window rubber and yes it removes or covers up the white polish stains.

I use Meguires Trim Detailer. It works well, and smells better than peanut butter.

I have heard of the rumuor before too, as well as Toothpaste working well too.

Ive got some old peanut butter buried in the cupboard.... might have to find it and stick it on the window rubber.

I don't doubt that it works, BUT, who would get that desperate that they would think to try Peanut Butter in the first place
