Alot of people weld the holes up then smooth them off and respray....If done right you will never even know the holes were ever there.

Bog will work but over time it will crack and fall out leaving the holes exposed so in the end it will have been a waste of time. Welding them up is the only real way of fixing them forever.

I would get some beat up old car panels to try welding on first, see first hand how much damage you can do with the slightest bit too much heat like Ash mentioned.

Utes that come with hard lids from the factory have little plugs that are coloured to match. They aren't the best option cause you can easily see them but won't be as obvious as the clips you have now. Much safer than stuffing up the welding too.

They are on ebay from time to time and I think you can buy them from Ford dealers, I imagine BA etc would still fit the XH.

You'd have to check the diameter. AU/BA/BF use a single rivet to hold their clips on. XD-XH use 3 plastic pins per clip that push in from the back.

My XG had 3 pins but my XH has the single rivet type. In any case checking the diameter would be good.

Yeah, XHI's have the 3 hole attachment with a hook fitting, XHII's have a single one with a round fitting.
Probably best to improvise with the original fittings - maybe a body coloured plug.

Too much hassle and too much to go wrong filling/finishing the existing holes - probably should be left to a pro, $$$$ as well too.
