my mrs got pulled over by the cops earlier tonight because being the kinda girl she is, she love and wanted light up washer jets, which i got and fitted. anyways she got pulled over cos of this and given a defect notice, NOW when i bought them (blue ones) i asked if they were illegal and was told NO. later on we got pull ed over by the cops cause of them NOW what they told me was that BLUE and RED ones were illegal but none of the others. So i went and bought white ones and fitted these. Tonight she got pulled over and given the defect notice but in another state and he told he they are illegal all together.

so whats the deal, are they illegal all together or just in certin states?

and if one cop controdicts another it shows incompetance between them and how well they all know the law

what kinda f**k up world are we living in???

I dont know the law , but I always thought that the red and blue ones were outlawed cause they are emergancey colors, ambos coppers and the like. But the white ones...... how is that any worse than the headlights?!

if they arent illegal, they damned well should be

you say that one cop said certain colours are legal, but your missus got caught a second time IN A DIFFERENT STATE, and got told that ALL colours are illegal.

now, it's not unusual for different states to have different laws and regulations, so how the hell does that make the police incompetent?

I used to have blue ones on my EF, still do actually, but I unplugged them.

You should wire 'em up with a switch to turn 'em on and off. That's what I did. That way you can turn them off if you suspect there might be cops around. Or if they catch you, you can give 'em the ol "Blue lights? what blue lights?? I don't see any blue lights. :D "

here in victoria there was a bulletin go around our suburb saying the washer jet neons and undercar neons are completely fine - i have never been pulled over and had them for 1 year - around my suburb there is a heap of people with neon washer jets - so im not sure about other states but in Victoria they are completely fine

p.s. im in victoria

Had white ones on my maverick for over a year, passed heaps of cops even pulled over for other things and never cared, thats in NSW but also past cops in QLD and ACT, not a care in the world. in saying that my missus got pulled over with red ones and was told he could defect her car for immatating a copper but let her off with a warning (copper on a power trip if you ask me). passed cops in my falcon with red undercars last weekend with not a care in the world, im fairly sure that you cannot have both red and blue, but by themselves is okay.

Speak to the people responsible for administering the legislation in your state. i.e. the RTA...

Bit rough judging the police' competence based on a trivial matter like this.
