I'm wondering if this is a common problem, I've had a quick look around but there doesn't seem to be any bang on posts about it.

I have a '94 Fairmont Ghia, and I've had to replace each indicator about 3 times due to them not staying put. When I had a look at where they're secured, I noticed two things.
1-One of the plastic clips had lost a chunk, which stops it from closing in tight on the long bolt coming off the indicator
2-The part at the very top, where the tiny metal bracket and the screw go through to hold the indicator, was bent, as if it had been pulled out. (also, the r/h side indicator doesn't seem to reach said 'part at the very top'.)

At the moment, they're both aftermarket copies, and they're annoying the f**k outta me.. Not sitting flush, and they just look crap.

Would factory indicators solve this problem, or is it to do with whatever receives the indicators?

I am actually looking to get a typhoon front in the near future, hopefully the lights as well, would that mean it would be a different (and new) set of clips, etc for the lights and indicators??

I've pretty much got the same problem, However I plan to fabricate some steel brackets, and attatch the indicators to the headlight, gaurd, radiator support AND bumper so that they're not going anywhere.

Yeh, well I'm about ready to superglue the bastards in there.lol.

I'd love to know if whatever the clips are attached to lifts out or comes off, or if they're just part of...the front? haha what makes it worse is I don't know all the terminology. I'm into trimming, not body work.

I'm gonna over engineer the HELL out of em, might not look pretty when the bonnet is open, will look fine when it's shut though
