How do I install washers with LEDs on my EF Falcon GLi? I have no idea how to take my old ones off or connect my new ones.

My ones have a red cable (for headlight connection) and a black cable (for earth connection). Where and how do I connect these? I know the red one is for the headlights, but I don't know where to put it and how to get it on the headlights.

Please help and forgive me coz I know nothing about cars lol.

Stock ones have clips underneath them, can be a b**ch to get at. Basically take the engine shroud off, pull the hose off and push the clips in on the washer from under the bonnet.

it should also be pointed out that these lights are illegal, so it might be a good idea to either put a switch in the power wire to them or not connect them.....

I got a switch, coz these are they 7-color changing one, so I can turn them off. But where and how do I connect the red and black wires? (headlight and earth) and how will I put the water hose back into my new ones?

best way to put the water hose back on is to put it on before you install them into the bonnet, then connect them up inside the engine bay.

you could connect the earth wire to any screw in the body, I'd skip the hood you wouldn't get a good earth through its hinges.

If you want them to come on with your headlights then you need to identify the headlight wire (easiest at the back of a headlight) and splice into it.

Ok thanks. How do I get the water hose off the original wipers? Do I just pull it off or must I do something else?

Give them a bit of a twist and then they should just pull off, sometimes the stub on the washer breaks off, but that shouldn't worry you unless you want to hang onto them.

I have connected the washers to the water hose, and put them in place. They wash perfectly :-D but I still have no idea where to connect the two leads.

I have a photo of them but I don't know how to attach it to this message.

They are thin single wires are exactly alike except that one is black (headlight) and one is red (earth). They are thin and have the colored plastic cover and at the end the actual wire is exposed for a few millimetres.

Kinda like: =========-- <-- Exposed thin metal wire
^^
^^
Colored
Plastic Cover

Any ideas how to connect these?

If you want them to come on with your headlights then you need to identify the headlight wire (easiest at the back of a headlight) and splice into it.

your wires depending on how long they are may need to be lengthened. Best way to do this is to solder them then and cover the join with heat-shrink. If you can't do that then wire connectors from a autoparts store.

How would I connect the earth wire to a screw? It seems that the exposed part of the wire is too short. Should I loosen a screw, place the exposed wire underneath it and screw it back in? Will that do?

Nah remove some more of the plastic insulation from the wire, to exposure enough of the copper wiring to be able to get it around what you plan on connecting it to.

EDIT: and yes, just loosen the screw, get the wire under the head of the screw and then tighten screw back up.

You really need to buy some wire connectors. They come in all sorts of sizes and types, one type being for connecting a wire to a earth through a screw or bolt.
looks a bit like this O=. if you look around under the bonnet you will find some that ford used when they made your car.

You will also need a crimper to attach the wire to the connector. You can buy these in a set with a small selection of differant connectors.

Would it be possible to wire them up to the water pump so whenever you wash the screen they come on?
