G'day, guys.

I own a '97 EL Falcon GLi Wagon and was considering mounting 3 red/orange LED marker lights on each side of the car, between the wheels, on both sides, similarly to some of the Land Cruisers you might see, with the truck lights down the side.

I am intending on installing the lights just beneath the doors, along the metal ridge that the jack points are on (running between the rear and front wheel).

My only problem is figuring out the best way (without jacking the car up), to run the power wires for each of the lights. I understand that I will be daisy-chaining the three lights on each side together in parallel and then running a single cable on each side into the cabin. My only problem is, where do I run the cable? Should I drill a hole in the tyre well and pass the wires up through there? Or should I remove a fuel tank retaining bolt and pass them up through there? Or should I drill a hole through the body and pass them up through the carpet?

I would like any advice on the safest most foolproof way to do this. Time and attention to detail is my biggest concern. I want it to look as "factory-like" as possible, neat and tidy as though it was a factory option.

This is the look I am going for (only coming on with my headlights).

Thanks in advance, guys and sorry for the long-winded explanation.

Or would it be better to pass the wire up through the front guard and bring it through the same grommet as the side indicator? :)

Wow.

How about installing SIDESKIRTS from a AU, BA wagon or whatever you find... And then just dropping a cable into the sideskirt with a plug on the end. Take the kick panels off (from the left pillar of the passenger side and the right of the drivers side footwells) and pull the cable through.

Really, dude- Take your two front guards off and have a look.

Failing that, you know what. Remove a small bit of centre console and drop wires under car though the gearbox tunnel. You can then run the stupid orange globes from a really stupid switch...

I take it that clearance lights on a car are frowned upon here. Would I be right?

I know they look great on a B&S ute and was just curious. What kind of car would you think warranted such lights, fiend?

Thanks anyway, guys. Maybe I should save my dollars and spend the on something useful, that I may actually NEED. Like tyres or brake pads! :)

I'll save the clearance lights for any truck I might own in future. Haha.
