Hi guys and girls,

I know this is my first post (will make proper introduction when I get my hands on a Falcon), and I know that the title is confusing, but, I saw something interesting on an XR8 Sprint the other day.

The front passenger door handle didn't have a keyhole in it, and it looked factory.

I doubt it was shaved, as there was nothing else aftermarket on it (that I could tell), and the handle looked longer than the rear (it seemed to have the section where the keyhole goes, but without provision for the keyhole.

The point I'm trying to make is, did Ford actually build any EA-EDs without the passenger side keyhole (EL style)?

I apologise for all the rambling, I have a roundabout way of saying things sometimes
Thank you

AFAIK it looked angular though, like the standard EA-ED ones.

Um..... Guys? :)

Sorry nonotahanda, I actually don't know. But before this thread goes off in the direction of 'Can you put EF/EL door handles on a box-car?' (Which, as bradley4567 correctly pointed out, you can) I thought I'd redirect back to your actual question.

EF's did have a keyhole in the passenger handle. EL didn't. AFAIK EA-ED had keyholes in both sides

Although the only way to make it look mostly factory is to go get another back passengers side handle and put it on the front

he also said that there was the provision in the door handle for a keyhole ie. an extended bit after the handle unit where it normally would go.

i dont think they had deleted keyholes in the sprints, my guess is that the locks been taken out and the hole bogged up/plastic welded over.

If it's not a later model handle, it's been modified as alfy has suggested, either bogged or plastic filled & welded up.

Didn't get any pics did you?

Cheers

Like the EF/EL's, they're different lengths, aren't they ???

I remember a few years ago on here, someone did make an EB/ED front passenger keybarrel less handle.
IIRC, a batch was considered to being made. From memory, there was something different about them - I don't think they were simply a body filler job.
