hey people im on my holidays and was wondering if any one wanted some led tail lights?

i have all the plans to wire then up all i would need is your pair of tail lights (or buy some from the wreckers) and i would mod them for you

i was thinking about doing it for a eb/ed then making the leanse clare like cominthru

(Above picture is borrowed off comingthru)

has done atm to look at to see how many LED's it would use but this is what i was thinking,

for the top (5mm, red light, clear lenase 2k mcd) 5 x 20 (100 leds),

Image

for the indicator (5mm, amberish light, clear lense 2k mcd) 4 x 20 (80 leds)....

Image

cost:: $300 dollars there is alot of parts (leds and resisters) and time invollved to do this

be the first e series ford with led tailights....[/img]

Sounds very tempting as I also have cleared my ED tail lights. Have you thought about the tait/stop part of the red, I have a few ideas and have drawn up some demo type diagrams, but haven't had the time or money to make a proto type of it.

If you want to chat further pm me your msn addy and I will send you some pics

No meaning to rain on someone's parade, but why don't you just whack some LED globes in it instead of making your own?

you can get them for aroud about $10 each and they got the right bayonet fitting and everything. Am I missing something? Seems like buying UL petrol and buying octane booster to turn it into premium.

they are completly diffrent...
they are just globe types ones by the looks of it,
this would be tthe whole insides of the light filled with leds hence why it is 100 leds for each side of the brakes and 80 leds for the indicators, like it would be dots every where in the houseing type of thing

naa i wanna do the clear lense conversion but i will get another set or taillights incase i fuk it up.
the LEDs run on a lower voltage so the flasher can thing will think one of the globes are blown and will flash quickly.
with the new can they just flash normally
