All interior and underbody neons / LED's are legal in Victoria EXCEPT:

Red underbodies at the front
White underbodies at the back

For obvious reasons.

If you mean unwanted attention when people get attracted to ford's section of a car show like Autosalon or something like that then sure, ill take it. Last year over at the central coast we drove through the entrance and we stopped at the lights. This was when i first didnt know anything about the laws against neons, I mounted it on the front bumper with electrical tape. A group of teenagers my age crossed and stared at the glow and one of them shouted neon! I enjoyed that unwanted attention. Also in this cruise up to the central coast we went up with family who have a holiday house. The needed to identify our car so that the did not lose us. The neon worked well for identification. This is why I want to find alegal place to mount so that we can be identifed from a distance. Not for the purpose of showing off. And to you who mock my usage of time,iIf you took 15-20 mins a day and had a love for your car you'd be happy as heaven :D . I dont really want to do up an old X-series but thanks for the tip. When I get a part time job I'll save up for a bomb of a 66 mustang. My first car will be the XR6 so I wanted it to be like new when I start driving it. my dad appreciates the work and pays me every week to do it. With the money I spend it on minor mods which wont affect the performance so I can drive it. Its not on the P-Plate ban list so I want to keep it that way for now. If you live in Sydney youd know it rained today and so I spent more of my time shammoing the car down so that it doesnt get dirt circles which are formed by water that has collected dust. Obviously I know my s**t..... Insulting me is not going to stop me boyz...

Ummm... i wouldnt say that u "know ur s**t" on the basis that u clean ur air filter daily and becuase u know that rain can make ur car dirty lol. If you can do a manual conversion or a turbo conversion or even an engine conversion, then maybe you could say that you 'know ur s**t' we dont want to get all big headed here. one question for you tho... are you buying the xr6 of your old boy? or is he giving it to you? coz i dont think anyone will respect someone driving 'daddy's car' ...

NEONS.......Why???? All I have seen with them is "Pick on me Mr policeman". Thats whats the cops are like here with them, but it doesn't help that its the Ricer morons with them, doin all sorts of sh!t to stir up the cops in the first place.
I reckon they make a car look cheap/crappy.

I eventually plan on a full red underbody neon kit for my XC, though i'd never use em' in public. Would barely use em' when out of my driveway. More for just a personal splurge. The way i imagine my falcon when its all finished, neons would look perfect. I believe its a matter of opinion. One thing annoys me though, those full set-ups which flicker to the doof doof and don't even surround the whole car. "Wow, theres a weird flashing green & purple glow coming from just left of the rear number plate..."
Enough from me.
Hail Henry.

Hope you got a lot of $$$ to get it right! Restoring a car (especially parts) is expensive and takes a long time...even worse as it has rust. The GT had a s**t load of rust down the passenger floor pan due to the heater leaking a few times, rust in the boot (could stick your fingers through a few places) etc. came up good now but all costs $$$

Not trying to discourage you, but try not to get into something that deep for your first as it takes a lot of time if your working or at school etc..

I hate people that get their parents cars and are like ywah look at my car....but when it comes mod time they dont want to and they avoid the topic till it all comes out...its their parents car.

But cleaning an air filter everyday...well my question is...is it a K&N?? if not then its not really worth it.

My grandpa had a 308 VN Calais and kept all the fluid levels up to scratch and the motor in that lasted for almost 400thousand but he sure didnt clean the air filter every day....just threw it out and got another when it was rooted.

Im sure your daddy wont mind giving you the car because when it comes time when your 18 in four years time that you can actually drive the thing my your self then it will be worth less then 8k anyway.
