Does anyone know the laws with neons, I've heard some stories but i want to know the exact locations that you can hook them up to your car legally. Also does anybody know where i can get a curciut to hook up a neon to a car without going through the cigarette lighter if its legal to hook up the neons on the exterior. Thanks to those who take the time to reply.

i dont think neons are legal at all......causes distractions or something like that. if i were u dont get them to be safe. and exterior neons should only be on cereal box toys.

interior however i think u can put in the boot to show off ur system and maybe under the legs or seats but no where near windows....i think exposed tubes near windows is illegal. just dont have a whole rave system going in the car and i think its fine

phong =P~

If you were building a show car, underbodies are fine as long as

1. the tubes aren't visible when on at all.
2. not allowed on while the car is moving.
3. not allowed on while the car is on public road/property.

So unless you've got a show car, or like having lights on in your garage, there's not much you can do with them.

In WA undercar neons are legal, so long as the tubes themselves are not visible, however this is only a fairly recent law change and not all officers are up to date, so if you get pulled be sure to get him to look it up......... Neons arent for ricers, stickers, ironing board spoilers and cannons are for ricers.

Seen plenty of Falcs with Neons, choose the right colour to highlight your car and they look sweet.

Frank, its his dads car, he posted about street racing a few days ago (ofcourse got deleted due to the illegal nature of his post and bragging about it).
He said he services it everyday.

Yeh I do service it everyday when my dad gets home, i just clean the air filter, ive been doing it for so long its lyk the filter is brand new. Had a radiator leak in it once picked it up straight away, no problems now. I'm pretty good with electronics so id be able to hook up a kit where i mount a switch somewhere so if i want to turn them on somewhere where its legal it would b easy to turn on rather than setting it up. Chunkz I dunnno about you but my family takes pride by its stuff so I'd like to see this car look good. Fords do look good with neons for eg. [7OAST] AU falcon. Now It's my dads car and we weren't illegally racing we just had good accelaration. I noted this to the mods. The Holden that we were legally racing (we never went above the posted limit 100ks) had a very slow reactin time. Mustve been nervous and slipped on the stick or sumthing he took lyk 5 seconds to get off the lights.

WTF? Does your dad drive down 100km of dirt roads a day or something? I do not think that there would be the need to clean the air fliter each day.
