im stuck in a bot of a pickle wanting to lower my ef fairmont. i recently deicided to put 18's on it a big change from the stock 15's and now im the laughing stock of all my mates with jokes like i didnt know the territoy came out in ef's, that car is so high i could walk under it etc etc, so after saving up my pcoket money iwas wondering if i could get an idea or here some suggestions from others who have gone low or super low and what the difference is between the 2 in ride height wise. here is a pic of my car now.

stock springs the a** sits up higher than front.
If you go low springs front and rear it will sit flat and still be functional super lows all round depends how often you go over speed bumps or what kind of drive way you have can affect damage to the car. super lows are only good for crusing not functionable as much, do you carry heavy loads much? or even 5 ppl in car. i dont even know what mine has i just told fulcrum to flatten it out and lower it lol Just go somewhere and tell them waht you want, how you want the car to sit they will help you out and give you an odea of what you will get or what you need to get

P.S No i will NOT take my mudflaps off

I have lows all round, and I scrape a lot. Sometimes my transmission hits some speed humps, especially those little ones in the shopping centre car parks and also my tow bar hits the speed hump during exit with 3 people in the back, at about 20km/hr...
So all in all, with lows all round, it is still more practical then super lows anywhere. I will tell you how it goes if I am towing anything. Though I do have shortened shocks on the rear (had superlows originally)... phong =P~

You'll regret going lows buddy... look in my gallery, thats supers... theyre not that low at all.
My car is 100% functional, just cant be a d**k at speedhumps, you need to negotiate them gently... which imo if your in a car you should anyway. |

i wouldnt know ive only got the 16" wheels but i reckon guard rubbing only comes into play once you hit 19" 20", the 18's seem to be very popular expecially the ba xr range, lets see what ppl what to say

You could always get your guards rolled to prevent it from rubbing if you want 18's or bigger. The front guards on my Fairmont have been rolled and i dont think ill have any issues, thats with pedders lows i think and pedders sports ryder shocks with spring seat mounted lower and sits on 16's. The guard just sits above the tyre by a few mm's

Look he is 17 so soon to be on P's. With superlows and mates in the car which im sure of he will be cop bait. Go lows in the rear (possibly heavyduty lows) seeing you have a gas tank and lowest in the front superlows but personally lows. Going lows it will save you having to go with shortened shocks if on a budget and later on can go lower after P's.
