Hi all,
My mate just got a ate 94 Ef Fairmont 6cyc and after the front left door lock working fine all of a sudded now it wont lock...... Thats using the normal key, spare key and the smartlock remote. All he other doors are fine and nothing has been changed. Sounds like a new lock might be needed...anyone have any other suggestions or know rough costs for fixing this ? Thanks

yer man a new door lock is in order..
you could try takign it out and giving it a clean but since it aitn lockign with the key chances are it is fooked... ( best bet would be to get 2 new door locks ( drivers side and passenger side) and a new key barrel. this way u want have 2 keys for the car unless u can get the door lock keyed to the key

not a clue!
mayeb try a wrecker for all 3  and the bem then u may not need to recode the key barrel.. not sure how it would work on e series
best to ring ford get a price then ring a few autostores in your area you be suprised

could be that the actuator is not getting any power...

ahh but it does not even work with the key.... if that was the case the lock would lock and maybe the drivers door would stay unlocked???

As i said before all doors bar the front passenger locks and unlocks with the key and the remote . The front passenger door is unlocked and will not lock.....I suppose maybe it could be stuck in the unlock position my mate also mentioned that when u push down on the door lock from inside the car it will go down slightly but not all the way
