The combination of tyre measurements is width, ratio, type, rim, speed code and load index.: i.e 185/60 R14 TL 82H.

185mm and height is 60 percent of the width on a 14 inch wheel!

Tyre width in mm divide by 25.4 to get width in inches.

235mm = 9.25"

Which is fine for an 8" wide rim - it's what I run.

Remembering the tread width, is on most tyres, bigger then the width of the 'rim mounts'.

235/45R17 tyres are a perfect match for 17x8" rims.
