Yea you will have to cut down the BA/BF bar where it wraps around to front wheels as they are to long and will have to shape the BA/BF bar to flair it to match the EL Guard yea it takes few weeks but dont rush it yea thats my Blue EL Typhoon bar in that pic.

yeah SWC... I read that whole thing a while back..

Grumbler... Do you have any photos of your bar on the car there are not that many people using the EL XR bar as the basis for the mod..

Also where did you cut yours down? near as I can see, I would cut both sides vertically a couple of inches from the ends and take out enough material that the wheel arches matched up, but what about the overall width? Also what did you mean by flairing?

I originally wanted a TE50 bar because it looked like a closer size match.... but that ship has sailed now..

can anyone give me some ideas of where I'll have to cut other than the horizontal cut to remove the top half?

Snazzy first trial fit.

It turns out trimming the wheel edges might be easier than I thought as the inner lip is recessed back about an inch so all I need to do is cut back to the lip and it will be level with the guard.

yeah, I had that same thought.. I'm gonna have to respray it at some stage anyway by the time I've put BA XR skirts and rear bar on.. so I could do the newer color too.

Looks great :D.

Yes, that is quite achievable. When you join the two parts I recommend Locktite Polyurethane Adhesive, miles better than Sikaflex, and lots of screws. The Urethane takes a week before it reaches complete drying but is worth it. As for the srew holes, they are easily filled later.

I couldn't find the locktite poly adhesive.. but I did get some polyurethane adhesive (Vice brand I think)

Also got the fiberglass resin, hardner and glass cloth I'll need.... all ready to go, but will not be doing the glassing yet as I realised that fabricating the new twin 4" lights will be much easier if there isn't a big heavy bar hanging of the EL twin surround... As it is now, I can test the fit easily without worrying about the bar being in the way, when they are perfect, I'll glass the bar together.

love the look of it all though... will look hot with angel eye halos in the light.. :-)

No, not spotlights..

I got these of ebay.
{DESCRIPTION}

Civic aftermarket twin 4" projector headlights...

Going to remove the clear from the gli lights and cut down the base so they fit with the EL XR facia in place.
Then use the old base to mount the new lights in the correct places... making use of the GLI headlight adjustment mechanisms. will work almost factory, and have close me a lot less than one single second hard EL XR light.

Then I'm gonna rice it up some and install these halo eyes.
