It actually doesnt mention colour of rear lights while off, just that they have be red when on, and visable 200m when on. But bulbs cant be greater than 7w.
Brake lights have to visable at least 30m (an no mention of bulb wattage)

Which I imagine why ive heard that clear lights with red bulbs cant pass ADRs with a normal fillament bulb. An LED rear light, produce alot more light, with alot less power consumption.

What do those pics prove? Theres no law regarding the sale of lights. There is laws regarding the use of lights on Australian roads though.

Is the light visable 200m away? ;) And only legal if they have red reflectors (or the reflectors are located elsewhere on the car)

Not that I care, its just that if I run up the back of someone with these clear lights, I will do my best to prove that they are illegal and I was not at fault.

And BTW, the law regarding rear lights is got to do with new cars. The laws regarding modification of them could be different.

Just like cars can come with wider rear wheels from the factory, but you cant put wider rear wheels on a car that didnt come with them. (without a engineers cert)

I was talking about the others pics posted up, and in particular the EF/EL ones.

Haha exactly...
Only those with half a brain will have clear EB-ED taillights.
Word to the wise, if/when you figure it out, if you're worried about legality, just do the indicators.

You need to cut the lenses off the back of the tail light, and remove the coloured inserts from them, it is a fiddly job, and having the right tools to cut the plastic is a big help, then silicone them back together
