I am going to be starting to modify my side rear view mirror on my EL in the next couple of weeks and was curious to see what others have done. I am personally putting indicators on them and moulding them in along with a couple of other little things. So what have others done?

I was going to try and do automatic folding mirrors that close as you lock the car...much like the sunroof. But got too lazy and found another hobby.

Need it at the shopping centre car park when stupid women with their fat bags have a swing at my side mirrors and scratching them on their way out of their own car...especially in the western suburbs.

Yeah tell me about it. People see nice cars like ours and think we can afford to keep repairing this s**t! But on topic, I've seen a plethora of the M5 style mirrors attached to all sorts of cars. Falcons included. I like it. |

Very nice mate.
So, if you have indicators on the mirrors, do you need the side repeaters in the guards? Cheers BenJ

From what I have been able to find out, as long as you have the same ammount of indicators as the car had when it left the factory and they can be clearly seen then the position doesnt matter. These lights are bright so I dont think anyone will miss them. The fun bit will be running the wire threw the door and into the car and finding the wires for the factory side indicators, which are still connected even though they arent visable

Yep, I thought it would be OK.
Re the wires, they are behind the kick plates and go through the A pillar to the guard. Cheers BenJ

I will hopefully do it when I do the aftermarket central locking. Now I am thinking if it might be worth my wild to make a fibreglass mould of a mirror and make smothing people can fit themselves? Would people be interested in something like that?
