Hi All
I have a 2009 FG XR6 Turbo that I have lowered and on the front put wheels that have a lower offset, hence pushing the wheels out more in line with the top of the standard flared wheel arch. This looks great but, now the tyres are exposed for most of their length when looking from the front. I think the F6 and GT front bars appear to drop down wider than the XR, and I can get a 2cnd hand F6 front bar or even a fibreglass XR style F6 front bar that doesn't need the lights changed from XR to XT style. My question is, how easy is it to modify an existing plastic front bar? I would be interested in building the front part of the wheel arch out and seamlessly patch and paint so it looks factory. I guess all things are possible and I am prepared to pay for professional help, but I am interested in knowing what I am heading into here. Thanks TM |

Anything is possible if you through enough cash and time at it. At the end of the day unless you will probably find that it will be cheaper to buy another bar that suits your needs and go with that. If you want something different, buy a fiberglass FG XR bar and modify that. Fiberglass is easier to work with than plastic and the finish is just as good.
