{USERNAME} wrote: Its just the paint you buy. Can get something called GMH black or RFU black which are an under body paint. They are very runny paint and dont need thinners to sprayand you can get 4L of that stuff for $20 which is plenty to paint a car. Another option is you can get something like Protect 10% gloss black which is a normal automotive arcylic paint so it will need thinners. 4L liters of that is around $100 but prices will depend on the brand of the paint and the shop you get it from. According to the shop I spoke to with the 10% gloss stuff you can polish it once it completely cured and make it a bit shinnier or leave it with the matt finish and it doesnt need a clear coat but the other stuff you cant realy polish unless you clear coat it which would then change its appearence. Also the shop couldnt comment on how the GMH/ RFU black would last being used as the primary paint but did say if it did fade or go blotchy after a while its not expensive to just repaint the car Hmmm, where can you buy this GM/H black? 4L for $20 sounds excellent!! My coupe is satin black but haven't given it a fresh coat for about 3 yrs, definately needs a new coat. With mine I sprayed it first, waited for about a month so its well and truly hardened, then carefully `polish' it with 600 grit paper - gives it a nice muted shine but still mattish

For those not familiar with this term it means toto have a car that is black on black on black. I'll post some pics up this week wen my new black tail lights arive. Just wanna know what peoples opinions are on murdered cars and if anyone has murdered there's {USERNAME} wrote: Yeh it's a state thing. Pretty big in the euro scene too. Old e30 bmw's look the bussiness murdered out. And also I'd like to add that I too am not even close to a fan of matt black murdered cars. Not even the royce. Makes ur car look like a chalk board. Polished is the only way to go imo. So wait.... What?? Ok, i'm lost.. We go together like chinese food and chocolate puding, lets face it ... Yeah, but Midd0, those two things don't really go together ... Oh we, we go together like cocain and waffles ... You know what, for instance, if I say peanut butter and ... You say... Ladies ... |

What's not to understand. I said I don't like murdered cars that are matt black. Then I gave an example of why I don't like them (they look like a chalk board) then I said that polished black everything is the way to go. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

Doesn't it have to be matte black to be "Murdered"??? Dont get me wrong... Not having a go, i was just under the understand that, that was the case otherwise isn't it just black car with black wheels??... Its all new to me. Guess you're doing a more "Manslaughtered" or "Attempted Murdered" out BA. P.s. It was 3:30am sorry i got it wrong! I was on a quick break on night shift, anyway i'm sure you'll sort things out with Matt Black whoever he is. I'm going to bed. Hmmm seems. |

normally the murdered term is related to the matte black look.
its a style preference, as aposed to the 1000's of gloss black new cars with black wheels on them.

I've used the 2k Matt Clear a few times on small parts. Its bloody good - Glasurit do one and it works well. Really useful for interior parts where you don't want a gloss and need the surface to be durable. Good for adding a textured surface finish too.
I use to use a liquid flatting agent for 1k paints but can't remember the name of it, but if doing multiple parts at different times then it can be a bit hit and miss to get the consistent finish. The matting/flatting agent is actually industrial talc. If you add it in the powder form it's really cheap and works with both 1k and 2k paints. You just have to play around a bit to get he ratios right; and remember to always filter the paint before use as well. http://www.barnes.com.au/catalog/index. ... =33&page=2 |

Alright. So I did some research. According to some American forums the collective term for any type of all black car matt or polished is "sinister". I put the tail lights in last night so pics will b up soon.
